Objectives. To compare patient characteristics, treatment patterns and long-term outcomes in low-grade versus high-grade serous epithelial ovarian cancer.
Study methods. Retrospective chart review of ovarian cancer patients treated from 1991 to present at OUHSC.
Results. 627 patients (patients) with ovarian cancer were identified of which 437 had serous histology. Of 84 patients with grade 1 tumors histology was: 44 serous, 25 endometriod, 11 mucinous, and 4 other. Low-grade serous patients were 11 years younger at diagnosis than high-grade patients (mean 54.4 vs. 65.3 years, p < 0.0001).
